The Faculty of Chemistry and Pharmacy invites applications for a
Full Professorship (W3) of Pharmaceutical Chemistry (Chair)
commencing on 01.10.2024. The Chair of Pharmaceutical Chemistry at the Department of Pharmacy - Center for Drug Research has its research focus on instrumental analytical chemistry and molecular drug research, including the development of biologically active small molecules. It has an important bridging function within the interdisciplinary HighTechCampus Großhadern/Martinsried. LMU Munich is looking for an internationally renowned person who can fully represent the field of pharmaceutical chemistry in research and teaching with a profile that further strengthens the faculty and university in the field of molecular drug research. Exemplary research topics are modern drug- and bio-analytical chemistry, the development and molecular characterization of macromolecular drugs, the development and application of computer-aided drug design methods, or structure-guided drug design. In teaching, the professorship represents the subject of pharmaceutical chemistry both in the state examination course in pharmacy and in the bachelor‘s/master‘s courses in pharmaceutical sciences. Appropriate experience is required. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree related to the field of pharmaceutical chemistry, a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification and teaching skills at university level. International visibility, excellent academic achievements, a productive research program, strong third-party funding and specific expertise in methods of molecular drug research that enable broad collaboration within the HighTechCampus Großhadern/Martinsried are expected.
