About the Faculty of Health Sciences:

The Faculty of Health Sciences comprises three schools: Allied Health, Behavioural and Health Sciences and Nursing, Midwifery and Paramedicine. There are currently approximately 14,000 students (EFTSL) and 530 (FTE) staff in the faculty under the disciplines: occupational therapy, speech pathology, social work, exercise science, exercise physiology, nutrition science, biomedical science, nursing, midwifery, paramedicine, physiotherapy, psychology and public health. All students have professional and clinical experience that is supervised by specially qualified practitioners. About Placement Services:

Placement Services is a centralised unit within the faculty, responsilbe for servicing and administering appropriate, sustainable and high-quality professional experience placements for all students.

About the role:

As the Placement Officer, you'll provide high level customer service to internal and external stakeholders to enable seamless placement administration support to the Faculty of Health Sciences. In this role you will:

  • ensure professional practice placements are organised and allocated to students in a timely and efficient manner
  • monitor student lists, liaise with placement facilities regarding rosters and liaise with students
  • assist with pre-placement documentation (Police Checks, Working with Children checks, Immunisations) to ensure compliance
  • ensure effective and accurate data is available for staff, students and agencies at all times, through the management of software packages including InPlace and Placeright.

You will need to have:

  • Completed an Associate Diploma with subsequent relevant experience, and/or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/training.
  • Demonstrated administrative experience and general knowledge, or ability to quickly acquire knowledge, of administrative processes associated with professional practice placements for a tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated ability to use initiative and provide innovative solutions.
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills that enable the appointee to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders, current students and staff.
  • Ability to liaise with external agencies, staff and students regarding professional practice placement requirements and provision.

Total remuneration valued to $88,664 - $96,079 total rem (pro rata) pa, including salary component $74,922 - $81,188 (pro rata) pa (HEW 5), employer contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.
