Assistant Professor, Architecture With Industrial/interior/ Urban/Sustainable Design

The Jindal School of Art and Architecture (JSAA) at the O.P. Jindal Global University, invites applications for a position at the rank of Assistant Professor (full time) beginning August 1, 2023.

JSAA seeks applicants who have their undergraduate coursework in a professionally accredited architecture program in their country of residence with a master’s degree and professional experience in industrial/interior/ urban/sustainable design. We are looking for candidates whose post-graduate training has been multi-disciplinary, and ones that are interested in exploring multiple facets of their expertise.

Candidates would be expected to teach undergraduate studios and seminars, while also demonstrating a keen interest in developing coursework and contributing towards evolving the curriculum. Given the inter-disciplinary nature of pedagogical practices at JSAA, candidates will be expected to teach students of architecture as well as students from across various design majors, and thus, develop coursework in a manner that highlights both the collaborative and inter-disciplinary nature of any design practice. Candidates will be expected to serve on school committees.

Required Qualifications

• Professionally Accredited Bachelor of Architecture degree and Registration in India or their country of residence.
• Master’s degree in relevant field. Candidates who have a doctoral degree in a listed area of interest or an allied field, and are active in research, will be given preference.

Desired Qualifications

• Ph. D. in a relevant field
• A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in practice and/or academia is required after Master’s degree. 
• Relevant college-level teaching experience and an established or emerging trajectory for scholarly work.
