About the opportunity

The University Library team is looking for a Manager, Learning Space and Services to coordinate and develop current and new services and facilities for a range of innovative library-managed learning spaces. This role is required to ensure that these services and facilities support undergraduates, postgraduates, higher degree research students and academic staff to provide a range of quality resources and evolving peer learning services to support collaboration, skills development, and a sense of belonging for the University community.

The Manager, Learning Space and Services will deliver on the high service quality while ensuring the frontline team is performing at their best.

About you

  • previous working experience managing a large team in non-traditional library spaces within higher education or similar
  • transformative leadership ability to achieve excellent performance in a team-based environment, with a focus on current and emerging client needs
  • led initiatives that have resulted in an increased use of services or resources, or strengthened partnerships with University clients
  • actively contributed to planning and strategic development, with an interest in continuous improvement and measuring impact
  • exceptional communication skills with a strength in negotiation and influencing

Australian Temporary Residents currently employed at the University of Sydney may be considered for a fixed term contract for the length of their visa, depending on the requirements of the hiring area and the position.
