An exciting opportunity is available for a trial manager to work on a mixed-methods feasibility study exploring the use of a new diagnostic test designed to improve the use of antibiotics for chest infections in GP practices. It is hoped that this new test may be a valuable tool in the fight against antibiotic resistance. The study is funded by the School of Primary Care Research.
The successful candidate will take overall responsibility for managing the project, including recruitment, set-up, and management of the GP practices and participants in the Wessex region. You will also be responsible for organising meetings, managing study budgets, and for supporting the study public contributors. You will be responsible for the research governance requirements of the project. You will be based at Aldermoor Health Centre and may be required to travel within the region.
Applicants will have a degree in a health-related discipline (or equivalent experience) and will have knowledge and experience of medical research methodology and statutory clinical trial regulations, GCP, and research governance requirements. Preferably, you will have experience of set-up, managing, and closing a primary care trial, as well as experience of managing sources of trial data. You will have demonstrated your ability to work efficiently both independently and in teams in a research context and will have excellent written and spoken communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
The post is fixed term and will be offered part time (0.5 FTE)
