The Department of Sociology has a reputation for excellence in teaching and research. In recent league tables for UK universities it achieved 11th for Criminology in the Guardian Good University Guide (2023), 12th in the Times Good University Guide (2023) and 16th in its Unit of Assessment for REF2021.

The Department is seeking applications for a Senior Lecturer in Criminology/Forensics for its innovative, new BSc (Hons) in Criminology with Forensic Investigation. You should have significant experience of teaching in higher education and can drive forward and direct this exciting new academic programme. You should hold a relevant doctoral degree or have appropriate professional experience. You will make a substantial contribution to the successful delivery of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and have a clear and developing profile of high-quality publications, related to a substantive area of research or pedagogy.
