Job description
We are offering three new Lecturer / Senior Lecturer posts at King’s College London, within the School of Neuroscience. We seek candidates working in the areas of Spinal Cord and Brain Repair; Hearing Loss and Sensory Systems; Chronic Pain and Migraine; or areas which cross-cut these themes.
Wolfson CARD is a vibrant department, with strengths in mechanistic and translational research related to neurological and sensory disorders. Under new leadership, Wolfson CARD is undergoing an exciting redevelopment and renovation, with ambitious plans for its future research vision and strategy. We are particularly looking to build capacity in our Spinal Cord/Brain Repair and Sensory/Hearing loss themes, although we will consider applicants whose research complements any of our three research themes ( https://www.kcl.ac.uk/neuroscience/about/departments/card) and their research fit will be an important selection criterion.
A core strength of the Wolfson CARD is the parallel use of pre-clinical cell and in vivo models, alongside our world-leading expertise in neuroplasticity, interdisciplinary neuro-immune research, high-throughput sequencing technologies, drug discovery and advanced therapeutics.
The successful applicants will join a dynamic research environment in which they will be supported to develop their academic careers. They will be expected to secure external grant funding to support an internationally competitive research programme, to contribute to teaching, learning and curriculum development for undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and to make a positive impact more broadly within the wider KCL community.
We are committed to embedding the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion into all our activities. To find out more about King’s commitment to diversity and inclusion, visit www.kcl.ac.uk/diversity. For our positions, we particularly welcome applications from black and minority ethnic candidates as they are under-represented within the university at this level.
For informal enquiries, please contact Professor Elizabeth Bradbury or Professor Susan Duty: elizabeth.bradbury@kcl.ac.uk; susan.duty@kcl.ac.uk
This post will be offered on an indefinite contract
