At the Faculty of Psychology, the Institute of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy invites applications for the
Chair (W3) of Psychotherapy
to be filled on October 1, 2024.
The Faculty of Psychology structures its teaching and research strategy along three profile lines: (I) Cognitive-Affective Neuroscience, (II) Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, (III) Human Performance in Socio-Technical Systems. The advertised chair is part of profile line II.
We are looking for a scientifically and professionally outstanding, qualified personality (m/f/x) with international visibility who will strengthen the institute's profile in research and teaching. The chair is co-responsible for teaching Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in the bachelor's program "Psychology" and in the master's program "Psychology with a focus on Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy". In research, an empirical orientation in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy is intended. In addition, we strongly desire active collaboration in interdisciplinary and interfaculty projects. The Faculty of Psychology values transparent and replicable research and explicitly welcomes all measures that can contribute to this (e.g. "open data/materials/code", preregistrations).
Successful third-party funding and research achievements are desired. Connections to the other profile lines of the Faculty of Psychology as well as to the emerging field "Neurosciences" of the Excellence Strategy of TU Dresden are advantageous. Activities in science communication and public relations are a plus. Applicants should be willing to actively participate in academic self-administration, in the institute and in the university outpatient clinic and research center for psychotherapy. Relevant teaching experience is a prerequisite; we place particular emphasis on didactic skills and commitment to teaching. Your willingness and ability to teach in German is a prerequisite. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 58 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG). Furthermore, a license to practice as a psychological psychotherapist or child and adolescent psychotherapist is required (Approbation). The call for applications is open with regard to the specialization; it is advantageous to have a specialization in one of the following methods: Systemic psychotherapy, depth psychology, psychoanalysis. In case of equal suitability of two candidates who would like to take over the tasks of the chair as a team, a division of the chair can also be considered.
