Overview

The School of Education is one of the largest providers of Initial Teacher Education in Australia with more than 5,000 students. The School produces high quality research and offers a broad range of programs including Early Childhood Studies, Primary, Secondary and Postgraduate Education.

We are seeking an innovative and creative Secondary Outdoor Education and/or Health and Physical Education (HPE) academic who is passionate about high quality teacher education and research within these areas. The Role

An exciting ongoing opportunity has arisen for a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer (Level B /Level C) position, within Secondary Outdoor Education and/or Health and Physical Education. The ongoing, full-time position is based in the School of Education which centres strongly on research, curriculum, assessment and pedagogy within Initial Teacher Education and postgraduate education.

The successful candidate will have a strong teaching and learning experience across Outdoor Education and/or the learning area of Health and Physical Education. You will share your passion for these topics to inspire our undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The successful candidate will have an established or emerging track record of research including evidence of a high-quality publication pipeline, higher degree by research supervision experience, the obtainment of competitive research income, research network / collaboration, and external impact and engagement.

Key criteria

  • PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • An established or emerging track record in quality research and outputs in Field of Research codes 13 or 39.
  • Expertise, experience and a strong pedagogical approach to Outdoor Education and/or Health and Physical Education in the Secondary discipline.

Applicants should possess outstanding interpersonal and relationship skills, with a strong track record of working in and leading teams. University experience and the ability to contribute to other areas in the Secondary discipline would be advantageous.

Benefits & Remuneration

This full-time, ongoing position attracts a salary range of $102,253 - $120,814pa (Level B) or $124,522 - $143,081 (Level C) plus 17% University superannuation contribution.
