Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in the Department of Pathology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 516798), to commence as soon as possible for one or two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree in cancer/molecular biology/cellular biology, with research (laboratory work) experience in cellular biology and signal transduction pathway research. They should have a good command of English; good interpersonal and communication skills; a strong enthusiasm and positive attitude of learning new skills; and knowledge on using software and bioinformatics tools for genomic data analysis. They should be able to show initiative and work independently.

The appointee will join a research group with key objectives of improvement of pathological diagnosis and investigation of novel treatments for patients in great medical needs. The group is currently conducting Government-funded clinical and scientific research projects on female genital tract cancers. He/She will conduct scientific research on in vitro and in vivo experiments on using novel drugs, and clinical research on genomic profiling of rare cancers. Enquiries of about the duties of the post should be sent to Professor Philip Ip at philipip@hku.hk.
