MDENet is the expert network on model-driven engineering, a branch of software engineering. MDENet aims to bring together research and practice in Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) in the UK and internationally. We will do this by

  1. Generating new, high impact research collaborations and projects driven by the software industry or by stakeholders from other subject areas that could benefit from MDE (e.g., artificial intelligence, computational biology);
  2. Producing and curating comprehensive MDE training material and delivering it through a range of training activities; and
  3. Increasing awareness, and thus impact, of MDE research and technology in the software industry.

This is a network funded by the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council in the United Kingdom.

The candidate will be responsible for the development of an open-source software platform that makes MDE tools easily accessible in the context of MDE education, aligned with point 2 above. This role will make an essential contribution to the MDENet mission by providing the community with a platform for easy sharing of software and training without the need for students to install and configure tools.

This project within MDENet is led by the network director and a steering group from the MDE community to ensure project results will be reusable as widely as possible. Tasks will include software design, development, and testing, creation of a CI/CD pipelines, production of documentation and training material, liaison with the MDENet director and the steering group.

This post will be offered on a fixed-term contract for up to the end of November 2023 when the funding ends.
