Position: Research Fellow

Job type: 1,0 FTE (full-time employment)

Number of open positions: 1 (a substitute for maternity and parental leave)

The research team of Magistri Iohannis Hus Opera omnia (hus.phil.muni.cz) is looking for a research fellow to join their project GAČR EXPRO 20–08389X „Observance Reconsidered: Uses and Abuses of the Reform (Individuals, Institutions, Society)“.

Requirements:

  • PhD or MA degree in Medieval Latin or related disciplines
  • knowledge of medieval Latin, Latin palaeography and basics of editing techniques
  • proficiency in academic English
  • independence in solving assigned tasks and problems, good team communication skills and flexibility
  • ability to carry out independent research and to publish academic outcomes

Expected tasks:

  • transcription of medieval Latin manuscripts
  • participation in preparing critical editions of Hussite and anti-Hussite Latin material
  • participation in national/international research activities and conferences
  • participation in the common research activities of the team related to the Czech Reformation of the 15th century
  • possible engagement in pedagogical activities related to the project topic
