Grade 5: £31,411 to £37,474 per annum (plus London weighting allowance of £4,460)
Permanent, Full time: 35 Hours per week

THE POST – COMPLIANCE AND ENGAGEMENT OFFICER
The University of the West of Scotland (UWS) London Campus has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance and Engagement Officer. London Campus student numbers are steadily increasing and this is a new role to support and manage a well-established Administration team in overseeing the compliance and engagement of over 3,000 students.  

The post-holder will be a key member of the London Campus Administration team, working closely with academic colleagues and staff across departments. You will coordinate activities and develop and lead on initiatives that encourage and facilitate student engagement.  You will ensure the discharge of the University’s policy and process relating to the Attendance Monitoring of Tier 4 students, providing expert advice to students and colleagues in relation to this area and to provide support to the other engagement and compliance functions within the university. 

You will be a motivated self-starter with a passion for high quality delivery, possess a track record of working effectively within a team, and enjoy balancing priorities and demonstrating initiative. The post holder will be an experienced and efficient administrator, with exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills. You will also have excellent customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly across a diverse range of cultures.

The successful candidate should have:

  • Relevant management experience
  • The ability to support others to thrive in a flexible and productive team
  • Show keen attention to detail 
  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to demonstrate initiative in all situations
  • Strong customer focus 
  • Intermediate IT skills, particularly in Word and Excel, email and internet use
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to pass on and receive accurate information to both staff and students
  • Ideally worked in an educational environment and with a diverse range of people.  

You will enjoy working as part of a team, have excellent communication skills, and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload. With drive, enthusiasm and tenacity you will be accustomed to operating within a busy environment.
