The Faculty of Business and Economics invites applications for the position of a

Junior Professorship (W1) in Business Administration, esp. Strategy and Business Ethics

with a four-year contract, to be filled at the earliest possible date. If the interim evaluation is positive, the employment contract will be extended to six years.

Evaluation criteria mutually agreed upon when the position is accepted will form the basis of the evaluation procedure. Essential elements of the evaluation will be the scientific success in terms of developing an independent and original research profile at the intersection of Strategy and Business Ethics, its implementation in publications and third-party projects, participation in national and international peer-reviewed publications and international conferences, the initiation of collaborative projects within the Faculty of Business and Economics, as well as the development of innovative teaching content for the bachelor, master, and diploma programs of the Faculty of Business and Economics, with positive student evaluations in both German and English language classes. 

You (m/f/x) are expected to represent the field Strategy and Business Ethics in teaching and research. You will offer courses in the bachelor’s, master’s and diploma degree programs of the Faculty of Business and Economics, especially on the advanced bachelor's as well as on the master's and diploma levels. Initially, your teaching obligation comprises four academic hours per week. We expect you to cooperate actively with faculty members and engage in interdisciplinary research collaborations within the university, as well as in external fundraising and academic self-administration.

You have an excellent pertinent PhD, have already presented your research results at national and international conferences, and possess the ability to publish in leading international journals. Your research focuses on at least one of the following topics: Strategy and Grand Challenges, Sustainable and Strategic Organization, Social/Sustainable Entrepreneurship and/or Sustainability Strategy. To strengthen the existing social and behavioral research profile in the field of Business Administration and to promote cooperation with the corresponding chairs, an empirical orientation (quantitative and/or qualitative) is desired. We expect good teaching skills as well as the ability and willingness to offer courses in English. Proficiency in German is not a prerequisite for appointment. However, we expect the successful candidate to acquire sufficient language skills in German to conduct teaching and administrative tasks within two years of appointment. Applicants must fulfill the employment qualification requirements of § 63 of the Act on the Autonomy of Institutions of Higher Education in the Free State of Saxony (SächsHSFG).
