Learning Transformation Manager
Learning Transformation has an exciting vacancy for a Digital Transformation Manager. The successful post-holder will have a senior role within the department and will be responsible for driving forward an exciting new strategic focus project on Digital Transformation. Driving forward this project, the post-holder will manage varied activities socialising the vision, development and implementation of a UWS digital learning ecosystem including the review, development, enhancement, and implementation of technology-enhanced learning across online, physical and simulated learning spaces and enabling ‘best in class’ flexible learning, teaching and assessment at UWS. This involves bringing examples of new and different approaches from national and international settings to ensure that UWS is sector leading.

Learning Transformation is a dedicated team comprising academics, learning designers and digital learning technologists, sitting within the Office of the Vice Principal Learning, Teaching and Students. You will join us as we strive to continuously enhance learning, teaching and curriculum at UWS, in turn inspiring our students and wider University community and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.

This post will join Learning Transformation at an exciting time, with energies focused on the delivery of the strategic institutional focus project - Digital Transformation - in which the post holder will have a key role in harnessing the power of digital technologies and practices in order to shape an excellent student learning experience at UWS. This role will necessitate co-ordinating activities working across a range of stakeholders, including technical-focused colleagues in Information Services, in the scoping, implementation, evaluation, development of support and sharing of best practice linked to the UWS digital learning ecosystem.  

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • A degree or equivalent. 
  • Advance HE Associate Fellowship or Fellowship or equivalent professional recognition such as CMALT/ SCMALT (Certified Membership of the Association for Learning Technology) – or significant progress towards. 
  • Ability to design and manage change activities and projects relative to Digital Transformation and the vision and implementation of a UWS digital learning ecosystem.  
  • Demonstrable and proven experience in leading and driving change in learning technology. 
  • Comprehensive, up-to-date, and forward-facing knowledge of digital technologies used in higher education learning and teaching, including virtual learning environments and the underlying technologies on which they are based.
  • Experience in the piloting, evaluation, review, and implementation of new learning technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, including translating technical requirements to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of inclusive and ethical use of digital technologies, and specifically accessibility requirements. 
  • Capable of effectively managing multiple projects/ activities and functioning productively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team, using data and influencing skills to build support amongst colleagues outside of line management relationships.
  • Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.
