About the Role 

The position will contribute to the research efforts of the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre and will conduct research activities related to the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre’s strategic agenda. The Research Assistant will also be involved in other relevant projects as directed.

In collaboration with UniSA Clinical and Health Sciences and the Rosemary Bryant Foundation, the Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre develops and undertakes a broad program of health care research in the areas of clinical, population health and health systems/services that inform: 

  1. The Rosemary Bryant AO Research Centre Strategic Plan 2018-2022, and
  2. The UniSA research and innovation strategic plan. This focus builds onto and complements the University of South Australia’s extensive interests in other areas of nursing and midwifery, epidemiology and population health, health sciences, and cell biology, drug discovery, and drug delivery research.

Core Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the planning of research by participating in planning sessions and offering new ideas on research directions
  • Undertake data extraction, critical appraisal, analysis, and reporting
  • Undertake and assist in activities such as data collection, the development of ethics applications, analysis, and reporting
  • Contribute to the dissemination of new knowledge by drafting reports, abstracts, scientific papers, and other instruments providing accounts of research undertaking and the findings observed
  • Contribute to the preparation and development of grant and tender applications 

Essential Skills and Experience

  • An undergraduate degree or relevant research experience in a health science related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience in undertaking and reporting evidence syntheses 
  • An understanding of primary and evidence synthesis research methods and reporting standards
  • Experience in statistical software packages such as SPSS, STATA and Excel
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including an ability to work within a diverse team
