Job Description Purpose of the post

The National University of Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow for EMULSION programme in the Department of Medicine, Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. The EMULSION programme is a large concerted effort by clinicians, scientists, and engineers to tackle Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). EMULSION aims to establish a rich clinical and multi-omics database, as well as cutting-edge personalized in-vitro models and in vivo pre-clinical models, to drive discovery and development of diagnostics and therapeutics for NAFLD.

The Research Fellow will work closely with the Principal Investigator, study team members and EMULSION’s partner institutions to lead EMULSION’s research efforts and facilitates industry engagement and collaboration.

Recruitment and employment

The candidate will be offered a full-time Research Fellow position. Remuneration will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leadership role in coordination of research activities including mentoring of junior researchers.
  • Managing analyses of longitudinal epidemiological data and high-dimensional data derived from high-throughput technologies such as genotyping/sequencing, methylation, metabolomics, proteomics to understand the pathogenesis of the disease.
  • Develop and interpret statistical data of various projects.
  • Draft and submission of progress reports at regular intervals.
  • Apply for research grants with Principal Investigator and co-Investigators.
  • Publish of quality research articles and conference proceedings.
  • Research administration.

Qualifications

The candidate must hold a PhD degree in medicine, biology or related fields with strong research background. Previous experience in statistical analysis and grant writing / management will be useful and preferred.
