About The Position

The Research Engagement Coordinator is responsible for promoting College research capabilities and successes; producing research communication collateral; and coordinating College research engagement activities. The role also provides advice on communications best practice and develops research communication strategy.

A key part of this role will be to plan and implement coordinated research communication activities for the College across a range of media, including online (web and intranet), print, social media, and events. The role will carry out the research communications needs of the College, and in doing so will pay close attention to the needs of our key research centres and groups.
The role will contribute to setting the College's strategic direction for research, and will coordinate activities with key stakeholders, including the College Communications Business Partner. The role will be involved in broader College communications initiatives and will participate in a communications community of practice.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated ability to use modern communications tools and platforms, including EDM management tools, social media and other similar applications. Adobe creative suite familiarity is not necessary but is considered favourable.  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage engagement and communications activities and develop and implement integrated communications plans in a research environment, including the development of content. 
  • Demonstrated experience and expertise in the provision of quality customer service, including sound knowledge and consistent application of relevant institutional policy and procedures, the ability to provide high level advice, and a commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement. 
  • Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, ability to build and maintain effective and productive relationships, and the proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of management, staff, students and external parties on complex, sensitive and confidential issues. 
  • Demonstrated highly developed organisational skills, with the ability to successfully manage multiple projects with competing timelines, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a demanding environment, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills and the demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and creative solutions.
