About the opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a high-achieving, innovative and resourceful Associate Clinical Educator to join our School of Law and Society at our Fraser Coast Campus at Hervey Bay. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with the community in the Fraser Coast region, make a difference and be part of a team contributing to and supporting students to become successful and job ready graduates.

You will support the facilitation of quality placements and clinical education of social work and human services students whilst on simulated, telehealth, external or internal placements. You will engage with industry to support the development of productive relationships that will contribute to the academic advancement of the social work discipline and you will participate in activities that enhance the student experience.

You will:

  • contribute to the design and delivery of teaching practice within social work;
  • support the student to foster a productive learning environment;
  • assess and give feedback to students on their learning;
  • undertake high-impact research; and 
  • contribute to governance, coordination of and participation in the school capacity-building activities, and activities that contribute to the student experience.

About you

You contribute to a positive and engaging academic environment, enabling excellence for both staff and students. Your well-developed interpersonal skills and exceptional written and verbal communication enable you to successfully deliver a superior student experience to supports quality placements and clinical education of social work. You collaborate cohesively and share your expertise to contribute to the ongoing success of the schools teaching, placement and research outcomes.

You will possess:

  • completion of a Bachelor qualification in a relevant field or equivalent accreditation and standing;
  • five-years post social work qualifying experience to meet accreditation requirements;
  • evidence of quality clinical education of social work and human service students in various forms: including simulated, telehealth, external and internal placements;
  • the capacity to conceive, develop and deliver higher education curricula and contribute to relevant areas of teaching; strong personal qualities and collegiate approaches that contribute to the development and maintenance of a positive academic environment conducive to engagement and achievement for both staff and students; and
  • evidence of a research track record and commitment to teaching excellence.
