Enterprise and Business Services has business, enterprise and innovation at its heart. De Montfort University has set out a clear and ambitious agenda for increasing business income. The Business Development team with the support of the wider directorate has succeeded year on year in reaching increased targets. Our intention now is not only to keep the momentum going but to increase income by growing the team. The post of Business Development Manager (BDM) Programmes, has been created to support this ambition.
Role
The role will provide leadership and support for the development of profitable and, where appropriate, strategic relationships with businesses, organisations and funding bodies.
As Business Development Manager, Programmes you will be responsible for promoting DMU programmes within Leicestershire and the East Midlands. Business Development Managers work collectively as a team on strategic initiatives and projects, as well as being partners for a specific Faculty. They will apply specialist knowledge of developing industry/business partnerships through contract and collaborative research, knowledge exchange, consultancy, higher degree apprenticeships, CPD and in aiding the commercialisation of IP (licensing).
The role is on a fixed term contract for 2 years, full time (37 hours per week).
The salary for the role is between £45,211.53 - £55,604.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced, enthusiastic and target driven self-motivated individual. They will have a good understanding of business development in universities and a track record of successfully managing programmes, meeting performance targets and managing resources. Being a team player and excellent communicator are qualities we value. First degree or equivalent relevant experience.
