About the position

This research only academic is expected to contribute towards the research effort of the institution and to develop their research expertise through the pursuit of defined projects relevant to the particular field of research.  Working in the group of Dr. Belinda Abbott, the main goal of the project is to develop a new class of compounds to target the failure of protein transport in motor neurone disease.

Skills and Experience

To be considered for this position, you will have;

  • Completion of a PhD or equivalent in organic chemistry, preferably with a focus on medicinal chemistry.
  • Experience in synthetic organic or medicinal chemistry
  • Evidence of experience in research and evaluation and the ability to work effectively under limited supervision or independently.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
