Applications are invited for one Temporary 5-year, and one Temporary 3-year post (Commencing: 1 January 2023) of a Lecturer/Assistant Professor in Statistics within UCD School of Mathematics and Statistics.

University College Dublin is seeking to appoint two Lecturer/Assistant Professor positions in Statistics in the School of Mathematics and Statistics - one fixed-term 5-year position and one fixed-term 3-year position. The School of Mathematics and Statistics is the largest of its kind in Ireland and offers the greatest choice of programmes at undergraduate, masters, and PhD level. Our teaching and research activities cover a broad range including Mathematics, Financial Mathematics, Applied & Computational Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics Education and Data & Computational Science. The School co-hosts the €22M Science Foundation Ireland Centre for Research Training in the Foundations of Data Science (www.data-science.ie), which funds a stream of PhD students.

The successful candidates will be expected to engage in research in Statistics, including supervision of research students and projects, in areas that complement and strengthen the School's current statistical research interests. The successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the School's wide-ranging programme of undergraduate and postgraduate teaching. The School offers undergraduate (joint) degrees in Statistics and highly successful taught masters programmes in Statistics, Data and Computational Science, and Data Analytics (online).

95 Lecturer/Assistant Professor (above the bar) Salary Scale: €55,951 - €88,601 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
