You will have successful undergraduate teaching experience and a Masters degree in English Language Teaching, Applied Linguistics or a relevant TESOL qualification. Prior experience in teaching English for academic purposes in a management/computer science or technology context is essential. Experience of living and working in China is highly desired.
Patience and the ability to work with students for whom English is not their first language is essential, along with knowledge of Chinese culture. The teaching will be conducted in English.
Ngākōreromōtetūranga - About the role
We have an opportunity for a dedicated and motivated academic to teach English Language to students during the first three semesters in our joint programmes taught in the disciplines of Computing and Mathematical Sciences, Arts and Management.
Current salary range for Professional Teaching Fellows will be in the range of CNY320,000 to CNY455,000 per year dependent on qualifications, skills and experience.

We are proud of our Joint Institute at Zhejiang University City College which is designated as an Institute authorised to deliver NZ (University of Waikato) and Chinese (Ministry of Education) accredited degrees. Currently the Institute offers undergraduate degrees in Media, Design and Finance. All teaching is conducted in English. Into its fifth year of operation, the Institute in Hangzhou has 16 staff and an enrolment of 1,000 students.

The appointment will start as soon as possible and the applicant will be a foreign expert, and employment compliant with the regulations of the provincial government. These regulations stipulate who is eligible for legal employment as a foreign expert with regard to obtaining work permits and visas.
