The Academic & Learning Enhancement Team supports a culture of continuous educational enhancement across the university. We aim to support the enhancement of pedagogy and curricula by (1) developing and recognising teachers and, where possible, influencing their reward and (2) supporting good programme design/review.

The Associate Professor will take on institutional-level responsibilities: co-ordinating the development and implementation of a continuous improvement tool across the university, which will support programme leaders to understand and reflect on metrics about their programme and plan effective enhancements.

Duties and responsibilities will typically include:

  • Coordinating and managing the development, testing and implementation of a continuous improvement tool to ensure it is delivered on time and to a high standard.
  • Socialising the tool by developing training materials for programme leaders and communicating about the tool, its benefits and how to use it effectively.
  • Evaluating the tool and recommending enhancements.
  • Contributing to the wider work of the Academic & Learning Enhancement team as appropriate.

You will have a track record of effective academic leadership, experience of managing an academic development project and socialising change. You will have leadership and influencing skills, an ability to effect change in pedagogic practice and to drive forward pedagogic projects across an institution. You will have excellent evaluation, communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. You will hold a PhD, PGCertHE, and Senior Fellowship (or Principal Fellowship) of the HEA or equivalent.
