The Campus Kitchen is the University of Southampton’s in house catering service. We facilitate a multitude of services across the University to include the provision of food in catered halls, retail catering outlets across all campuses and a delivered catering service for all hospitality requirements. Our aim is to deliver a five-star food service, catering for a wide range of needs and requirements and enhancing the experience for staff, students and visitors on campus.

Campus Kitchen is recruiting a Catering Supervisor to assist in the day-to-day planning and operation of designated catering outlets to include cafes, a brasserie and a fine dining restaurant. 

A strong food and beverage knowledge, excellent communication and planning skills and experience in the running of a wide range of food retail outlets are essential. 

The working hours are on a full-time basis. There will need to be flexibility on hours as occasional evening and weekend work is required. However, this is not required frequently and notice of evening and weekend work is provided in advance. For more context, currently a typical working week looks like this, Monday – Friday, 7am - 7pm.

Additional working benefits include time off over the Easter and Christmas period due to University Closure days, bank holidays and a 36 hour working week. Lunch is provided to all members of the catering team during each shift subject to a mxiumum spend.

You must be prepared to work extra hours and provide further flexibility during busy periods: September to November, Graduation weeks and Open days.
