Job description
We have an exciting opportunity for a School Support Administrator to support our School of Computing Engineering and Built Environment with timetabling administration, based at Merchiston Campus.
This is a crucial role in supporting our academic colleagues to ensure continued success of student experience within the school and University.

Simply put, through excellent customer service, we anticipate users' needs and deliver support services that are efficient, accessible, and intuitive to our users.
The role
You will play a crucial role in supporting our academic colleagues across the School of Computing Engineering and Built Environment (SCEBE) to ensure an accurate and up to date allocation of the teaching timetable is available for our students.
This is an excellent opportunity to work closely with various academic colleagues and professional service staff from across the world to support with module and programme support. You’ll also work with external examiners and a variety of committees within the School and across the University.
You’ll also have the opportunity to work with our students, with day-to-day enquiries and administration of student records.

What Are We Looking For?
The ideal candidate will have good passes at higher grades, and/or equivalent demonstrable administration experience.
Along with excellent customer service and communication skills, you will have the ability to engage and build relationships with students and colleagues alike. You will have strong organisational skills and the ability to multi-task and juggle priorities as required.
You will be comfortable with working to agreed deadlines and will enjoy working within a team environment. Attention to detail and strong IT skills is paramount for the administrator role.
The successful candidate will be a proficient user of Microsoft Office packages and, depending on the role offered, receive training to utilise a number of systems including the University’s databases and online learning platforms.
This role will suit an organised and proactive professional with demonstrable customer service skills.
Although this role is based at our Merchiston Campus, there may also be an expectation to work across all three of our campuses when required. For example, during examinations or during our student-facing events. Occasional evening and weekend working is also required to support peak work periods throughout the year.
