Applications are invited for permanent Senior Lecturer / Lecturer posts in Psychology (appointment to Senior Lecturer or Lecturer grade will be based on experience). We are looking for individuals whose teaching and research expertise complement the existing strengths within our enthusiastic and friendly team. Individuals should demonstrate an established research programme that aligns with one of our four research themes: Learning and Development, Health and Wellbeing, Society and Environment, Cognition and Neuropsychology. We welcome applications from suitably qualified individuals from any field of psychology but would be particularly interested in applications from individuals who have expertise in Social Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Psychology.

The Roles

The successful candidates will contribute to teaching across both undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, by delivering taught modules, as well as supervising student projects and PhD students. The appointees will be expected to contribute to on-going curriculum development, as well as assume additional administrative roles, as appropriate.

The Person

Applicants should have, or be close to being awarded, a doctorate (PhD) in Psychology, or have equivalent certified experience or expertise. Applicants should also have experience of teaching in the University sector. Evidence of a track record of research and publications and previous research funding or knowledge exchange activity will be an advantage, as would teaching experience on BPS accredited degree programmes (at UG or PG level). We would welcome applicants from all fields of psychology; however, we would be particularly interested in individuals who have expertise in the areas of Social Psychology, Forensic Psychology or Clinical Psychology. If applying with clinical psychology or forensic psychology expertise, being HCPC registered and / or holding British Psychological Society Chartered Psychologist status in Forensic Psychology or Clinical Psychology would be an advantage.
