The School is renowned for a range of research activity that consistently achieves an outstanding world-class ranking in ERA. Research is conducted in collaboration with indigenous and local communities, national and global partners providing ground-breaking solutions to real world health challenges to better health. It actively responds to community requests, such as sending a team of experienced nurses to provide urgent vaccination assistance to vulnerable Indigenous communities in Walgett, a partner of the School.

The teaching team within the School is led by award winning academics who are experts in their fields. They are committed to teaching and learning strategies that develop nursing knowledge and the skills required to function as effective practitioners across a diversity of clinical settings.

You will be able to choose your primary workplace location at either the new Central Coast Clinical School in Gosford or the Callaghan Campus in Newcastle with an expectation to work across both campuses to share expertise in the undergraduate program and contribute to the online delivery of the post graduate programs. The Role

As a Senior Lecturer in Nursing you will bring your experience, commitment to quality learning and strong track record in research to inspire and engage our student community with their passion for nursing.

Some of the key requirements in this role are to:

  • Support the mentorship and supervision of colleagues newly appointed to an academic role and / or early career researchers colleagues
  • Proven leadership in leading teaching teams to contribute to curriculum design and evaluation; to achieve local, national and international recognition for innovation teaching and learning to ensure optimal student experiences. 
  • Demonstrate capacity to build and maintain the University’s reputation by forging positive relationships with academic and professional staff, students and form strategic partnerships, collaborating with business, industry, government and community regionally, nationally and internationally
  • Contribute to the School’s research environment through collaborations inclusive of: external grant income, publication outputs, and supervision of Honours and or Higher Research degree students

You will have:

  • A PhD qualification in Nursing or health related discipline
  • Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no restrictions, notations or conditions
  • Demonstrated track record of high-quality research outputs and publications
  • Evidence of success in securing internal and external funding for research
  • Evidence of natural ability to guide, lead and support masters research projects, honours and HDR students to completion

The remuneration is Level C from $126,446 to $145,803 plus 17 % super.
