Applications are invited for a Full-time specified purpose post covering leave (Estimated Duration: Up to 12 mths) of an Accountant Research Programmes within UCD Research Administration.

The Research Programmes Team is a group within the integrated Research and Innovation unit. The Team rollout and deliver the supports for proposal development and work with the grant registration team to ensure effective integration between proposal, award and initial project mobilisation. The key role of the team is to ensure that all UCD research proposal submissions are highly enhanced, competitive, and effective in securing funding.

The Team is the first point of contact for UCD researchers wishing to apply for research funding. The team provides a range of supports for the research project funding lifecycle including provision of research funding information, call information alerts, administration of the funding call calendar, online help packs, proposal feedback, budget preparation, compliance check and review to final submission and approval by UCD Research. This involves working in partnership with Schools, Colleges and Institutes, other central support units and the Research Partners to ensure that the needs of the researchers are being met in a timely and effective manner.

The Accountant role is a key information point for the UCD research community in relation to the financial regulations of research funding agencies. This role also provides budget templates and advice on the financial content of research proposals and plays a key strategic role in ensuring that proposals are compliant, competitive, demonstrate value for money and structured optimally to the benefit of UCD.

95 Administrative Officer 1A 2013 (2010) salary scale: €61,622 - €72,009 per annum

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
