University College Birmingham School of Engineering, Digital & Sustainable Construction has what can only be described as a unique opportunity for the right candidate.

UCB deliver a range of level 2 & 3 Engineering & Construction pathways and HE from 2023 in such fields as mechatronics, mechanical, manufacturing, and electrical electronics, robotics and AI, construction, civil engineering and surveying, to help us meet demand we require a pastoral lecturer to join the team at this incredibly exciting time.

For the right candidate we can offer the opportunity for a highly motivated self-starter to join us at the outset, have direct input into supporting the curriculum delivery with curriculum specialists and work with our industry partners to secure work and industry placements.  

You will support alongside a team of lecturers and senior lecturers on the delivery of high quality, inspiring and inclusive learning opportunities for students to help them achieve their learning goal, ensuring that they are completely work ready and can springboard into high value careers when they leave us.

Our recent investment of over £2 million pound in labs and equipment such as hydraulic, pneumatics’, PLC trainers and Industry 4.0 production line, robots, cyber factory alongside state-of-the-art materials labs and testing equipment and our PC suites with the latest industry software such as MATLAB, Fluidsim, Tekla, AutoCAD, Revit etc, this continues with our phase 2 £20m now underway development of James Cond printworks to create The Centre for Sustainable Construction opening in summer 2023.

We expect that the ideal candidate for this role has a comprehensive CPD record and furthermore they will be expected to continue to carry out placements in industry and further developing their professional CPD.
