A founding member of the Russell Group, the University of Southampton is among the top 80 global universities and in the UK’s top 15. Our academics and diverse global student community are helping to change the world for the better.

Our new University Strategy sets out a clear vision – that we inspire excellence to achieve the remarkable and build an inclusive world. We strive for greater inclusivity in our community, as diversity is a strength. It makes us more creative and accelerates our impact on society. Through partnership, we aim to inspire communities working with us locally and globally to change the world for the better. As such, we’re investing in our International Office to achieve the ambitious goals set out in our International Strategic Plan.

We are seeking an experienced International Recruitment Manager to develop and manage our international student recruitment activity in specific regions (to be determined on appointment).

As an International Recruitment Manager, you’ll be responsible for having an in-depth understanding of your region and markets – including their political, educational and economic landscapes - to enable you to devise, plan and implement the University's recruitment activities. You'll work closely with your regional team to ensure a coordinated approach to activity across recruitment, partnerships and global mobility.

About you:

You’ll bring excellent communication skills since you’ll need to liaise across the organisation and beyond to ensure success, as well as being highly organised and experienced in international higher education and research matters. You’ll be keen to represent the University internationally, raising our brand and profile, with confidence to negotiate with external partners, institutions and organisations in other cultural settings.

Application Procedure

You should submit your completed online application form at https://jobs.soton.ac.uk. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above. If you need any assistance, please call Sian Gale (Recruitment Team) on +44 (0) 23 8059 2750, or email recruitment@soton.ac.uk. Please quote reference 1976622NP on all correspondence.

As a university we aim to create an environment where everyone can thrive and are proactive in fostering a culture of inclusion, respect and equality of opportunity. We believe that we can only truly meet our objectives if we are reflective of society, so we are passionate about creating a working environment in which you are free to bring your whole self to work.

With a generous holiday allowance as well as additional university closure days we are committed to supporting our staff and students and open to a flexible working approach.
