Overview:

Are you interested in human research ethics and research? Want to gain valuable experience and contribute to quality ethical research? Join RMIT's Human Research Ethics Committee (HREC) as a community member in the category of 'pastoral carer' (e.g., a minister of religion or Aboriginal elder).

  • Volunteer position
  • Online meetings - 4 - 6 hours per month
  • Training provided

Online meetings are held between 4:00 to 6:30 pm on the third Wednesday of most months, and you are not required to attend campus for meetings. Applicants can be based anywhere in Australia.

As a committee member, you will review RMIT research applications involving human participants and participate in meetings. In return, you will be provided with comprehensive training and mentoring in a supportive and friendly environment. External members receive an honorarium.

To be eligible, you must be available to attend meetings and undertake pre-reading and not be a current employee RMIT University
