Outstanding in a wide range of discipline areas, Aberdeen’s research is at the centre of the University’s 2040 strategy.  With a particular focus on the strength of our academic disciplines and their interaction, our research profile is structured around five global challenges: Energy Transition; Health, Nutrition & Wellbeing; Data & Artificial Intelligence; Environment & Biodiversity; Social Inclusion & Cultural Diversity.

Good candidates will bring a proven track record of fostering and delivering a strong performance ethos within a research context, coupled with highly developed interpersonal and motivational skills.  A proven track record of efficient and effective management of resources alongside a world-leading reputation in their field of research will be important.  This should be evidenced through a sustained track record in attracting high levels of research funding and a deep understanding of the REF.  A commitment to an inclusive leadership approach will be essential.
