• Salary Package: From $97,621 - $104,622 (Level A step 6-8) p.a., plus 17% employer's superannuation and annual leave loading

We are seeking an enthusiastic researcher to participate in an established research program in consumer informatics. The goal of the program is to research, develop, and evaluate digital health applications to support patients and consumers in making better healthcare decisions.

The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with a cross-disciplinary group of highly experienced and internationally recognised researchers in the Centre for Health Informatics to (a) conduct research in the design, evaluation and science of digital health for patients and consumers; (b) develop high-quality publications and presentations; and (c) support other related research activities of the team (e.g. student supervision).

About You

You will have completed a PhD in a relevant health-related discipline. You will bring your strong research expertise to a multi-disciplinary team and help the team to develop and evaluate real-world systems for patients and consumers. We are looking both for academic rigour and outputs, as well as proven problem-solving experience, and ability to interact with internal and external stakeholders. Ideally, you will have the desire to work with patients and consumers, with demonstrated skills of using mixed-methods research to design and evaluate real-world applications in healthcare settings. You will be a good communicator, passionate about your research, and enjoy working in a dynamic team.

Essential

• PhD in a relevant health-related discipline (e.g., health informatics, human computer interaction, psychology, public health, health services, health sciences, medicine)
• Strong experience in systematic review and/or meta-analysis
• Demonstrated skills in mixed-methods research (such as interviews/surveys/focus groups, participant recruitment, co-design methods, ethics application involving human participants)
• Demonstrated skills in data analysis (e.g., system usage log analysis, qualitative data analysis, statistical analyses, social network analysis)
• Publication track record in refereed journals
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to prepare and publish in high impact quality journals.
• Proven ability to conduct research independently and as part of a collaborative multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable

• Experience of working with internal and external stakeholders
• Experience in innovative technologies, such as sensors, smart home, assistive technology
• Experience in human computer interaction, health behaviour change, and/or social network analysis
• Understanding of health informatics and consumer digital health
• Experience working with patients, healthcare consumers, and/or clinicians
