Job Details

A proactive quality professional, who is highly motivated and able to work well in a fast-paced environment is required to meet the rapidly expanding portfolio of collaborative provision at St Mary’s University. You will be able to work flexibly to ensure that strategic opportunities are progressed rapidly to partnership approval stage, whilst ensuring that you work within the policies and procedures of the University. You will bring a strong understanding of collaborative partnerships, an excellent understanding of the UK Quality Code and broad knowledge of good practice in collaborative partnership development. The role will entail providing expert advice and preparing formal reports. This will also include providing advice to the executive /senior managers of the University and partner institutions on quality issues, coordinating the annual quality monitoring and review process, programme approvals, and ensuring that accurate records are created and maintained. The post may require travel within the UK and overseas.

Duties will include:

  • To liaise closely with academic and professional services colleagues to coordinate and facilitate the approval of new collaborative partnerships with institutions in the UK and overseas.

 

  • To coordinate and support the partnership and programme approval and review process; providing expert advice and guidance to academic and professional services colleagues with regard to collaborative programme development.
  • To organise and support the Chair of relevant committees and Panels relating to the approval and development of new and existing collaborative partnerships, and other meetings and committees relevant to collaborative provision activities
  • Work closely with Faculty and Institute colleagues, professional service colleagues and other members of CTESS to ensure that accurate records relating to collaborative provision (such as programme specifications, module outlines, Panel events and outcomes etc.) are produced and maintained in accordance with established practices.
  • To work closely with the Quality and Standards Team, Head of Quality and Academic Partnerships and Dean of Learning and Teaching to develop and implement enhancements to quality assurance processes, documentation and administrative practices relating to collaborative provision.
  • Support the wider work of the Quality and Standards team and CTESS according to requirements of the Head of Quality and Standards and Dean of Learning and Teaching.

You will be a skilled team player, and able to organise and coordinate input from across the University to ensure a high standard of service is provided for collaborative partners, their representatives, and colleagues and services throughout the University. You will be able to work well under pressure, using your initiative to independently problem-solve and facilitate the progression of strategically important partnerships. You will work alongside Quality and Standards Managers with responsibility for on-site provision and will liaise closely with them in all aspects of your work.

  1. Our Academic Development team
  2. Our Widening Participation Access and Outreach team
  3. Our Quality & Standards Team.

CTESS works closely with academic and professional services teams across the University to enhance the student experience and develop an inclusive, supportive and flexible learning environment for all our students.
