Widening Participation and Social Mobility are pleased to be recruiting for a Widening Participation Project Coordinator. You will join the Access team as we develop and expand our range of activities aimed at working with and supporting those from underrepresented groups within schools, colleges and the wider community in developing their understanding of Higher Education, and the skills required to progress onto higher level qualifications.

Your role will support and enhance our offer, working towards the targets outlined in our Access and Participation Plan which include reducing the gap between those studying at the University from areas of high and low participation, and increasing the number of care leavers and mature students. Emerging areas of work also include further support for young carers; the development of attainment raising activities; and advice and guidance for parents and carers.

The successful candidate will have experience of working with and delivering content to young people, as well as an understanding of the different pathways through Primary, Secondary, Further and Higher Education, and the barriers systematically faced by some students at each stage. You will be working in schools, on campus and in community settings to deliver engaging material with the main aim of helping overcome these, as well as supporting the wider directorate achieve the aims set out in the new Widening Participation Strategy.

There are two posts available. These are offered on a full-time, fixed term basis - one post is to cover secondment and one a maternity cover.

Interviews will be held in person, week commencing Monday 24th October.
