Applications are invited for appointment as Post-doctoral Fellow in Experimental Photonics in the Department of Physics (Ref.: 516474), to commence as soon as possible for two years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Physics or a related subject, and have demonstrated knowledge and experience in experimental research in optics. Strong technical experience in working with fiber optics components and research experience in experimental quantum random number generation or quantum key distribution are desirable, but not necessary. Applicants should be highly self-motivated and have an excellent command of written and spoken English. The appointees will work on experimental quantum communication, particularly in quantum key distribution under the supervision of Professor Hoi-Kwong Lo.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income.
