Applications are invited for appointment as Professional Practitioner in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref. 516383), to commence as soon as possible, on a one-year temporary basis or two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.

Applicants should be a registered social worker, psychologist or relevant professional in Hong Kong and possess a Master’s degree. They should have at least five years of clinical or frontline experience in bereavement care, family or healthcare services. Experiences in training and development of curriculum and training materials will be an advantage.  They should be required to work independently and in a team, self-motivated, and familiar with evidence-based services in health and mental health settings. They should also have a high proficiency of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese), and good communication skills. Preference will be given to those with professional merit in publication of original and professional work.

The appointee will be responsible for developing curriculum and training on bereavement and life and death education. Duties include developing evidence-based practice; liaising with different stakeholders such as NGOs, hospitals and other institutions; conducting professional trainings and community education on family-based psychosocial intervention; conducting group interventions; designing and implementing project evaluation and other duties as assigned.  He/She will be required to work during irregular working hours occasionally or when required.
