An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Faculty of Medicine for a Senior Administrator to provide comprehensive and efficient administrative support for the Southampton Clinical Academic Training Scheme (SoCATS).

SoCATS is the body that oversees the delivery of academic training to clinical academic trainees undertaking research at the University of Southampton as part of the NIHR’s Integrated Academic Training (IAT) program.  

As Senior Administrator, your role will be to provide comprehensive administrative support for SoCATS, including:

  • Acting as the primary point of contact for all queries concerning clinical academic training
  • Managing the induction of new clinical academic trainees
  • Administering the funding schemes for NIHR clinical academic trainees, including fulfilling budget holder responsibilities
  • Comprehensive record keeping
  • Collating and analysing complex data relating to SoCATS to support a range of processes
  • Providing secretariat support to the SoCATS Committee
  • Organising and supporting networking events

You will also be expected to support the Faculty Research Manager and colleagues within the Research Support Office with the delivery of other administrative tasks and projects where necessary.

We are looking for an experienced administrator who is capable of working independently while managing a diverse workload.  Excellent communication skills are essential, as is the ability to work flexibly in response to the demands of the role.  Experience of using Microsoft Office programmes including SharePoint, Teams and Forms is desirable.
