Northumbria School of Design has a global reputation for design-led research with an emphasis on practice, understanding and redefining problems, and making positive real-world change. Northumbria School of Design are seeking to appoint an outstanding individual to join our dynamic community and particularly interested in applicants with professional and research practice in the Interior Design discipline. The role will help develop and lead our expanding discipline portfolio and the future of subject within our School. The successful candidate will have an advanced understanding of a range of commercial, Interior, Architecture and Spatial Design practice including retail, workplace, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, transportation, and exhibition. You will demonstrate an ethical and social commitment to the development of Interior Design in society and a detailed understanding of the creative, technical, and applied industrial skills required of the discipline. You will be an inspirational teacher and educator who can bring flare, creativity and knowledge to the teaching environment and work as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be instrumental in developing new collaborative design and research projects, collaborations with external partners and your own high quality research outputs. You will be committed to contributing to the School of Design’s research agenda and helping to develop sustainability and regeneration in the discipline, professional networks and the reputation of the school.
