Who are we looking for?
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Paramedic Science to join School of Clinical Sciences, Faculty of Health, Academic Division.
The Paramedicine Discipline within the School of Clinical Sciences has an exciting opportunity for an outstanding candidate for an ongoing full-time Senior Lecturer position in Paramedicine. The role of the position includes but is not limited to the coordination of units, assisting clinical facilitators and other clinical staff working with students on placement, providing academic support for students both on campus and on placement, supervising students and facilitating clinical learning, and ensuring the quality of student learning experiences. Some course coordination and deputising as Discipline Lead will be required.

About the School of Clinical Sciences
The School of Clinical Sciences is developing the future of clinical healthcare, from training the next generation of industry professionals to undertaking crucial research into key areas in the clinical sciences.
The School of Clinical Sciences is composed of five distinct disciplines; pharmacy, podiatry, paramedicine, medical radiation sciences and radiation therapy. Each delivering courses that provide real-world clinical experience taught by contemporary, practicing healthcare professionals.
The School offers bachelor degrees in pharmacy, podiatry, paramedicine, medical imaging, radiation therapy, and postgraduate courses in ultrasound and podiatry, as well as research Masters and PhDs. The School has a globally-recognised research program, changing clinical practice for the better, advancing healthcare technologies and treatments to improve outcomes for individuals and communities.
What you need to succeed
You are a dynamic and inspirational academic leader, with a drive to foster excellence in research and lead innovative teaching and learning activities.
You will demonstrate:
- Completion or demonstrated commitment towards completion of a doctoral qualification related to paramedic science.
- Proven ability to effectively design and deliver practical and theoretical learning. Proven ability to embed and evaluate innovative approaches to learning and teaching of topics related to paramedicine, including use of digital technologies and authentic assessment.
- Record of independent contribution to high impact research/scholarship in an area that would enable links with existing research programs.
- Evidence of or commitment to effective supervision of research students at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Proven leadership that contributes to a high performance and collaborative culture in teaching and research.
- Demonstrated success at developing internal and external partnerships that extend best practice and realise translational opportunities for teaching and research
- Demonstrated capacity to lead teams in the preparation of grants, consultancies and/or commercial contracts, including productive relationships with external partners, and in the development and preparation of curricula and accreditation documentation.
- Demonstrated highly developed interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute to a dynamic, high-performance, and collaborative culture.
