AI Singapore (AISG) is a national AI programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF) to anchor deep national capabilities in Artificial Intelligence (AI).

The programme office is hosted by the National University of Singapore (NUS) and brings together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.

The Research Fellow will be part of a team that will build next generation education platforms for the upcoming AI Centre for Educational Technologies. (AICET). The Research Fellow will be responsible for undertaking indepth research for AICET to solve real-world education challenges with rigorous research in AI and data science. The research should lead to both publications in top-tier international conferences and journals, as well as real-world industry implementations. He/she will be working closely with the Principal Investigators on one or more research projects together with our Software Engineers on building various education platforms.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Design and develop new state-of-the-art algorithms and applications for education technologies
• Write high-quality research papers to be published at top-tier international research venues
• Contribute to knowledge exchange and technology transfer activities with industry partners and collaborators
• Make demos and presentations for exhibiting work at appropriate events.

Qualifications

Requirements

• A PhD in Computer Science or equivalent, with specialization related to data mining and artificial intelligence;
• Computational thinking with proven ability to conduct independent research with a strong and relevant publication record;
• Experienced in working with a diverse range of data types; prior experience in data analytics and education applications would be a plus;
• Experienced in using the latest AI, and big data platforms;
• Excellent interpersonal communication and oral presentation skills in English; and
• Experienced in working in a team, with people of diverse skillsets
