Job Description

In this position, the appointee will work under the Adult Educator Management team to support activities in ensuring the professional quality of Institute for Adult Learning's (IAL) Adjunct Adult Educators (AEs). The appointee will support the implementation of programmes and work closely with the AEs to ensure high-quality learner/customer service experience delivery.

  • Provide induction training to newly appointed AEs, facilitate the Train-the-Trainer sessions and support stakeholders involved in the delivery of programmes.
  • Manage AE performance to ensure high-quality delivery and assessment through regular quality assurance reviews, in-class observations, assessment audits, and post-course evaluations.
  • Drive EdTech adoption and facilitate the professional development of IAL adult educators.
  • Lead the investigation of escalated learner feedback against AEs, assessment appeals, violations of academic integrity, and perform interventions where required for AE misconduct and/or non-compliance.
  • Disseminate information about programmes and practices to ensure all stakeholders are constantly kept informed.
  • Conduct and analyse data from programme outcome evaluations to determine the learning effectiveness and present key findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Lead or participate in innovation projects within the department or division to streamline and automate work processes for productivity improvements.
  • Actively explore, introduce/adapt/revise suitable pedagogies and andragogies to familiarise AEs for applying these new approaches in their training delivery.
  • Conduct regular audits of AE’s delivery in the classroom to extract new delivery approaches from their practice experience, identify best practices, and work towards generalising them into new pedagogies and andragogies.
  • Any other duties, including cross-divisional projects or events that the management may assign from time to time to meet the organisation’s needs and changing environment.

Job Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications, preferably in education-related fields. Candidates without the required qualifications but with relevant work experience and required skills may also be considered.
  • Three to five years of relevant work experience managing training programmes and adult educators, performing quality assurance.
  • Experience in using data analysis and visualisation techniques/tools
  • Familiar with tech-enabled learning and Kirkpatrick’s 4 Levels of Learning Evaluation
  • Possess WSQ Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA) or WSQ Advanced Certificate in Learning and Performance (ACLP)
  • Familiarity with the Singapore Workforce Skills Qualification (WSQ) framework and training management system is preferred
  • Mature and meticulous, able to grasp and tackle operational issues with a clear understanding of the system, process implications, and stakeholder needs
  • A team player with strong interpersonal skills and a service excellence mindset
  • Open-minded, adaptable, receptive to change and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Analytical and strong in planning, implementation and process design
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with strong mathematical abilities
  • Resilient to challenges and possess good problem-solving skills
  • The successful appointee will be based in IAL Campus located at Lifelong Learning Institute at Paya Lebar.
