THE POST – Senior Lecturer in the Master of Public Administration AC4
Due to a significant expansion and investment in our teaching portfolio within our London Campus, the School of Education and Social Sciences are seeking applications from individuals to join the School’s Division of Social Sciences as a Lecturer in the Master of Public Administration. You will join a dedicated team who strive to continuously inspire our students and wider University community – and, through modern teaching and impactful research, continue to deliver innovative solutions to some of the world’s biggest challenges.  

We welcome candidates with a background in Social Sciences, especially around Social/Public Policy or Public Administration. Areas of expertise we are especially interested on are any of the following ideally with a comparative and global perspective: public management, policy analysis, public sector human resources, public accounting, crisis management, leadership and communication in the public sector, digital services and administration, public health and welfare, education policy, economic development and sustainability, environment and global development, migration, and labour markets.

Experience of teaching and having an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and a PhD in a relevant area, are essential. Our ideal candidate will have experience of subject development and teaching with a diverse international student body, using technology to enhance online learning and the principles of digital education. Our ideal candidate will have experience in module/programme development, administration, and leadership, having experience in supporting and advising colleagues and students in Higher Education. You will be able to evidence research experience and outputs (research or practice) commensurate with the stage of career and applicants.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Degree and relevant postgraduate/PhD qualification or equivalent qualification 
  • Higher Education Fellowship or equivalent
  • Experience of learning, teaching and assessment within Higher Education 
  • Appropriate evidence of external engagement which is clearly in line with the School’s priority areas for the future (e.g. external engagement in terms of research, or knowledge exchange, or engagement with professional bodies or other external organisations)
  • Have experience of developing and delivering modules across the areas of social/public policy or public administration in the areas of interest mentioned above
  • Experience of hybrid delivery of learning and teaching and of use of authentic/real-world assessment approaches
  • Commitment to delivering high quality teaching and supporting an outstanding student experience.
