The Faculty for the Study of Culture invites applications for a
Professorship (W2)
of Tibetan and Buddhist Studies
(permanent position)
commencing on 1 October 2023.
This professorship is funded by TARA-Stiftung and Khyentse Foundation.
Applicants should be able to teach the full range of Tibetology. Expected is a historical and philological focus in their research on Tibetan Buddhism. The position represents an essential component in the interdisciplinary program of “Buddhist Studies”.
LMU Munich seeks to appoint a highly qualified academic to this professorship. Prerequisites for this position are a university degree and a doctoral degree or a comparable specific qualification. With an excellent record in research and teaching to date, prospective candidates will have demonstrated the potential for an outstanding academic career.
