About the Opportunity

We are currently looking for a Lecturer to be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Forensic Science, and specifically Forensic Biology, in the School, which may include conducting tutorials, practical classes, demonstrations, workshops, student field excursions, clinical or studio sessions, and student consultation, marking and assessment activities. The Lecturer will undertake research in areas of expertise, including publication of scholarly work and generating research funding. Success in this role requires collaboration with the Forensic Science team and external providers.

Key responsibilities of this position include:

  • Learning and Teaching Practice: foster an outstanding student experience and encourage active participation and engagement in learning and teaching and strive to continuously improve your teaching practice through professional development and critical reflection informed by a range of evaluation approaches.
  • Research: contribute to the advancement of knowledge through a balanced research portfolio of high-quality outputs that demonstrated impacts, including the ability to obtain research funding.
  • Service and Engagement: develop meaningful and impactful partnerships with the broader community, by actively engaging and collaborating with external stakeholders as well as contribute to the enhancement of the School standing and reputation by promoting educational and research activities with external communities.

This is full-time, continuing position based at the Griffith University Nathan campus.

About You

To be successful within this role, you will have a PhD in Forensic Biology or Forensic Science and will have demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in successfully teaching in this discipline at the tertiary education level. The successful candidate will have the demonstrated ability to conduct and publish quality research. You will be able to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills and contribute to the positive culture and aspirations of the School and University.

  • An ability to develop productive working relationships and partnerships and contribute to a collegial team environment

Salary Range

The base salary for a Lecturer (Level B) is in the range $100,137 - $118,916 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $117,160 - $139,132 per annum.
