22160 - Lecturer in Environmental Management
We possess research and educational strengths in environmental management and science which include atmospheric/aquatic chemistry and pollution, coastal systems, environmental and natural resources economics, erosion and sediment control and management, geospatial analysis, impacts of climate change, pedology / soil science, restoration/remediation, stormwater, and water quality management. We have strong relationships with local, state and federal government as well as industry. Our curriculum is also strongly aligned with local and national industries and founded on workplace-based, real world practical education.
We seek to broaden and deepen our impact in this important area through this position. You can work in any area of environmental management that broadens or deepens our current areas of strength and have, or be willing to develop, close connections with industry. We encourage applicants with experience in developing and running courses with close ties to industry to apply.
22178 - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Current areas of research strength within the school include hardware and embedded systems, communications, Internet of Things, intelligent signal and digital processing, power systems and electronic design. You will ideally complement our existing areas of strength and have experience in electrical / electronic design / systems / sensor design, communications engineering (IOT, video/digital communications etc.), integration and interfacing, signal processing (algorithms etc.), or sustainable power / renewable energy.
You will also possess demonstrable links with the electrical and electronics industry, understanding/alignment with Industry 4.0 and whose research aligns with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.
22177 - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Mechatronic Engineering
Current areas of research strength within the school include machine learning, machine vision, augmented reality, mechatronic design, systems design, and medical/biomedical engineering. You will ideally complement our existing areas of strength and have experience in mechatronic engineering design / systems design, machine learning / machine vision (AI), autonomous systems, or robotics/cobotics. You will possess demonstrable links with the mechatronics industry, understanding/alignment with Industry 4.0, and whose research aligns with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.
22159 - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Organic Chemistry
Current areas of research strength in chemistry within the school include environmental, natural products, drug discovery and analytical chemistry, applicants interested in any other area of chemistry are encouraged to apply. We are seeking to recruit a chemist whom complements existing areas of research within the school, across UniSC, can connect with local industry, and who offers the opportunity to grow our research impact. Chemistry links with many other disciplines, and we encourage applications from people who can develop cross-disciplinary research programs. As a mid-career academic, you will have a track record in research and education, and bring to UniSC a portfolio of research partnerships and funding. You will have some experience in refining existing, or developing new, courses and programs and growing interest in chemistry in undergraduate and postgraduate education.
22172 - Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Environmental Engineering
In a changing climate, hydrology and the management of water resources is becoming increasingly important. Water is the lifeblood of society and understanding its behaviour is crucial not only for sustaining life, but for planning and developing communities and infrastructure. More broadly, environmental engineering and an understanding of the way that a changing climate will impact communities, society, and industries, is essential, to ensure the sustainability and growth of civilisations on the Sunshine Coast, Australia and beyond.
We seek to appoint in the area of water and environmental engineering, or more broadly environmental engineering, to support teaching, research and engagement across our engineering programs at UniSC’s Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast campuses. You will complement and grow our existing research and teaching strengths and help us maintain and build transdisciplinary links within and outside of UniSC. You will possess, or be interested in growing, demonstrable links with industry, understanding/alignment with Industry 4.0 and whose research aligns with the UN’s Sustainability Development Goals.

22155 - Lecturer in Applied Mathematics
Current areas of research strength include pure mathematics (Algebra) and mathematical modelling & simulation, and more broadly in biostatistics and machine learning. Applicants interested in all areas of applied mathematics are encouraged to apply. You will is passionate about growing our research strength in mathematics as well as high quality, deep and enduring connections in both research and learning & teaching across UniSC, nationally and internationally. Applicants able to develop meaningful connections with industry are particularly encouraged to apply.
22153 - Lecturer in Cyber Security
You will join our small and extremely talented staff within the Technology Discipline and grow the breadth and depth of our research and education. You will complement existing strengths in cryptocurrency and cybercrime investigations (including darknet and extremism), and in the broader areas of cyber security, human factors / design science; and smart design for industry (including machine learning & AI, IoT, Cloud, security & networking). However, we welcome applications from talented people working in all areas of cyber security who feel they can help us build transdisciplinary links within and outside of the University. Those interested in establishing and building links with industry are particularly encouraged to apply.
22162 - Lecturer in ICT/Computer Science (2 positions)
You will join our small and extremely talented staff and grow the breadth and depth of our research and education. You will complement existing strengths in the broad areas of data science; human factors / design science; and smart design for industry (including machine learning & AI, IoT, Cloud, security & networking). As a group we have identified key industries to work with including transport, health and agriculture, but also welcome applications from talented people working in other areas of ICT / CS who feel they build transdisciplinary links within and outside of the University. The successful appointee will engage in undergraduate teaching of ICT / CS and contribute to postgraduate courses delivered in person and online.
School of Science, Technology and Engineering
The School of Science, Technology and Engineering (SSTE) brings together all non-health related STEM disciplines to create a vibrant, multidisciplinary environment that fosters innovative and impactful research and educational outcomes. SSTE is located on three of UniSC’s campuses at Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast. We are excited to be part of UniSC’s growing presence at our Moreton Bay Campus, with SSTE staff and students benefiting from existing facilities as well as three new buildings currently under construction and due to open in early 2023.
Our research has been independently rated as above or well-above world standard in Biology, Environmental Sciences, Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, Materials Engineering, and Technology. We have research and funding agreements with local, national and international funding agencies, as well as a number of industries. Along with UniSC colleagues from other Schools, we are founding partners with the Food and Agribusiness Network (FAN), and also members of the Advanced Robotics in Manufacturing Hub (ARM-Hub), a number of Collaborative Research Centres (SmartSat, Honey Bee Products, Marine Bioproducts), Galapagos Science Centre and the Queensland Defence Science Alliance. We are extremely proud of our success in the recent Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2022 with UniSC placing first in Queensland and equal 31st in the world overall, with specific SDG results of 5th for Clean Water and Sanitation, equal 18th for Life on Land, 19th for Life Below Water, and 22nd for Climate Action.
We offer a number of qualifications at both under- and post-graduate levels including bachelor’s degrees in Animal Ecology; Computer Science; Environmental Science; Environmental Management; Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical & Electronic); Information and Communication Technology; and Science, as well as Masters and Doctoral degrees. We also work closely with Future Learn to deliver online short courses. We pride ourselves on the practical nature of the education we deliver, right from the first semester of a degree.

UniSC’s state-of-the art Moreton Bay campus, is one of Australia’s newest greenfield university campuses and a game changer for our university. Located in Petrie, to the north of Brisbane, UniSC is the anchor educational institution in the heart of “The Mill at Moreton Bay”.
