As part of the German government's artificial intelligence (AI) strategy, the successful Saxon competence center ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig (Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) is being expanded into a leading German AI competence center for Big Data and artificial intelligence (AI).

At TU Dresden, Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences, the Department ScaDS.AI is offering for this purpose the position ScaDS-22.7 starting as soon as possible as a

Research Associate / PhD student (m/f/d)
(subject to personal qualification employees are remunerated according to salary group E 13 TV-L)

limited for 3 years with the option for extension. The period of employment is governed by the Fixed Term Research Contracts Act (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz - WissZeitVG). The position entails 75 % of the fulltime weekly hours. The position aims at obtaining further academic qualification (e. g. PhD). 

Professional assignment: Chair of Civil Law, Intellectual Property, Media and Data Protection Law (Prof. Dr. iur. Anne Lauber-Rönsberg, LL.M.)

Research area: Intellectual property and data law

Tasks: As a team member of a legal research group, you will deal with data and intellectual property law frameworks for Big Data and Artificial Intelligence. You will contribute to publications in the context of the research project and organize workshops, conferences and other events of the chair. 

Requirements: You are a qualified jurist with at least the first state examination or a university master's degree and have above-average legal qualifications. We expect knowledge of intellectual property law and/or data law or the willingness to delve into these areas of law, a strong organizational talent and the ability to work in a team, as well as very good English and good German language skills.
