The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) is a government-funded tertiary institution in Hong Kong. It offers programmes at various levels including Doctorate, Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees. The School of Accounting and Finance is the longest established accounting school in Hong Kong with over 80 full-time academic and teaching staff in the areas of accounting, finance, economics, and law. The School has adequate resources to support a variety of research interests and activities, and has comparative advantage in promoting cross-disciplinary research that is needed in the modern business world. The School has maintained an excellent network with overseas and Mainland China institutions for collaborative work.

The Hong Kong Polytechnic University is one of the world’s leading universities which ranked 66th in the QS World University Rankings 2022. The research of our Faculty of Business has been ranked 63th in the world (The UTD Top 100 Worldwide Business School Rankings based on Research Contributions for the period 2017-2021). Duties

The appointee will be required to:

(a)  teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels;

(b)  conduct research that leads to publications in top-tier refereed journals and awards of research grants;

(c)  undertake research, programme/curriculum development and administration; 

(d)  supervise student projects and theses;

(e)  engage in industrial and scholarly research/consultancy activities;

(f)  undertake academic and departmental administrative duties; and

(g)  perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should have:

(a)  a doctoral degree in finance or a relevant discipline;

(b)  good publication records;

(c)  strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research;

(d)  good networking ability; and

(e)  excellent communication skills and the ability to use English as the medium of instruction.

Conditions of Service

A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
