The Garvan Institute of Medical Research has now started an international search to succeed Professor Chris Goodnow FRS as the Institute’s next Executive Director.
The Garvan is one of the world’s top research institutions. For more than 50 years, Garvan has pioneered insights into some of the most widespread diseases by contributing leading research in genomics, cellular genomics and epigenetics; cancer; diseases of immunity and inflammation; and diseases of ageing affecting bone, brain and metabolism.
A team of 900 plus excellent and dedicated researchers and professionals utilising cutting-edge technology and benefitting from dynamic local and international collaborations build the platform of Garvan’s ambition. They seek to enhance and develop research programs that combine fundamental science with strong clinical interaction, harness all the information encoded in our genome, from DNA to complex organ systems, to better diagnose, treat, predict and prevent disease.
